How Hard Is It To Medal At The New York State Meet?

That's the question we wanted to answer just over a week and a half from the 2023 rendition of the Indoor State Champs. We looked back at the past five years, and pulled out the 8th place mark for each year, the Federation Medal cutoff. Then, we created a range of times to see what it might look like if athletes were shooting for that coveted podium spot. Medals will be awarded to the top 6 finishers in each division. The state champion of each race/field event will receive a champion t-shirt. Federation medals for places 1st-8th will also be presented. There will be two award ceremonies - the first will be for the NYSPHSAA medal winners, the second will be for the New York State Federation award winners. It is possible that an athlete may win a NYSPHSAA medal and a New York State Federation medal. NYSPHSAA medals will be for NYSPHSAA member schools only, Federation medals will go to the top eight overall finishers.
