New York, NY –
Senior Kevin Kearney (Haddonfield, NJ/St. Joe's Prep) had a strong showing at the Metropolitan Coaches Collegiate Invitational on Friday at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City. Kearney's performance headlined a group of athletes at Wagner's first event of the new year.

Kearney took 12th place in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:58.72. The time was his best finish of the season, besting his previous mark of 2:00.1h set at the Fordham Invitation on December 11th. Kearney's finish was only one second off his season-best from a year ago (1:57.62) and three seconds off of Wagner's all-time record (1:55.6).

Another impressive finish was sophomore Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA/St. Joe's Prep), who finished 16th overall in the mile run with a 4:28.6 mark. Iannacone's time is Wagner's season-best in the event so far.

Joining Iannacone with a strong finish was sophomore Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY/Longwood), who added a 19th place finish in the 3000 meter run at 9:18.5.

Breaking out today was freshman Marquis McMillian (Ridgefield Park, NJ/Ridgefield Park). McMillian finished in 18th place overall in the long jump, with a mark of 6.09 meters. He later took ninth in the triple jump at 13.45 meters.

The men return to action on Friday, January 15th, when they take part in the NYC Gotham Cup.
