FULL RESULTS

New York, NY –
Senior captain Amanda Gland (Woodbury, CT/Nonnewaug) stood out at the Metropolitan Coaches Collegiate Invitational on Friday at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City. Gland's performance headlined a group of field athletes at Wagner's first event of the new year.

Gland took third place overall in the Long Jump event – in a field that consisted of 34 competitors. Her mark of 5.35 meters ties her second-best leap of the season. Gland's season-best mark came at the Monmouth Invitational on December 5th, where she jumped 5.46 meters.

Adding to her impressive day, Gland took seventh place in the Triple Jump with a mark of 10.9 meters. Not far behind her was freshman stand-out Tiffany Dawson (Staten Island, NY/Curtis), who placed eighth at 10.75 meters.

Rounding out the top performances for the women was first year thrower Sheena Taylor (Twinsburg, OH/Detroit Mercy). Taylor continued to have a huge impact for the Seahawks, cracking the top-ten in both the shot put and the weight throw. First, she finished ninth in the shot put with a 12.24 mark. She then added a 14.67 meter measurement in the weight throw for sixth place honors. Taylor's 14.67-meter mark in the weight throw is a new season-best for the Seahawks.

The women return to action on Friday, January 15th, when they take part in the NYC Gotham Cup.
