Women Picked 9th in Preseason Poll

Somerset, NJ – Wagner College was forecasted to finish in 9th place in the annual preseason Northeast Conference (NEC) indoor track and field poll that was released by the conference office yesterday. All 12 head coaches, who are not allowed to choose their own team or players, took part in the poll.

Wagner returns stand outs Amanda Gland (Woodbury, CT/Nonnewaug), Danielle Diodati (Haverhill, MA/Central Catholic), and Mishelle McNamara (West Covina, CA/West Covina) - who look to build on their impressive 2008-2009 campaigns this winter.

New faces for the Seahawks include first year thrower Sheena Taylor (Twinsburg, OH/Detriot Mercy) and versatile sophomore Tiffany Dawson (Staten Island, NY/Curtis). In just two events, Taylor and Dawson established themselves as legitimate competitors in their respective events.

The 2010 Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships are slated for February 20 and 21 in Landover, Maryland. The Prince George's County Sports and Learning Center will serve as the meet's venue for the ninth year running.
