It is the first day of official practice for the 2022 Cross Country Season, and for many, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School is the end goal. That's the location of the 2022 NYPSHSAA Cross Country Championships, where team and individual glory comes to fruition.
The course has changed since the venue last hosted the tournament back in 2012, a meet that devolved into mud as the day progressed. Those issues have largely been resolved, as the new layout has plenty of crushed gravel and improved drainage, while also providing one of the best spectator courses in the Empire State.
Through the maple trees capturing syrup, and around the back fields full of corn. Up and down the winding trails, with a good hill underfoot twice. Check out the full map below, with the video walkthrough above.
