Two New York girls teams were added to the field for the Nike Cross Nationals Saturday in Portland, Ore., it said when the 11-person NXN at-large selection committee released the four boys and girls at-large teams invited to the national championships.
Shenendehowa (Clifton Park XC) and Queensbury (Adirondack XC) were both added to the field after finishing second and third, respectively, at the NXN New York Regionals last Saturday at Bowdoin Park. Shen's Lizzie Predmore won the regional individual championship, outkicking Shaylyn Tuite of Pittsford-Mendon in the last half-mile.
Defending national champs Fayetteville-Manilus and Saratoga Springs both qualified Saturday at the regional meet. Fayetteville-Manilus also qualifed on the boys side along with Burnt Hills.
