Paul Robeson Standout Anissa Moore Doubles Up On 400m Mark

Junior Anissa Moore (Paul Robeson) had an impressive double over the weekend, in what is quickly becoming a breakout role. At the New York Relays. Moore anchored her 4x400m relay with a 54.83 split, leading her team to the win, as well as the State Leading time with a 3:51.32. One day later, Moore was back at Icahn Stadium running at the Colgate Women's Games Finals, where she dropped a 54.61 to win there too. The two day double has put the State on notice.

The mark ranks as US #17, the fourth fastest mark north of the Mason-Dixon line. It's still early season, with plenty of improvement on the horizon. Still, her mark ranks her NY #12 All-Time in the event, just shy of her school record, held by Amanda Crawford at NY #11. It is also the fastest time by a New Yorker since Paris Peoples (Benjamin Cardozo) ran 54.51 in 2018.

Moore is dropping down from the 600m Indoors, where she placed third at the State Meet. She is also an integral part of the Paul Robeson relay squad, that saw them place 2nd at New Balance Indoor Nationals for the 4x400m, as well as All-American for the 4x200m. However, her prowess in the Open 400m now makes her a favorite for the Individual Spring State Title.

You can hear from her below after her race on Saturday (second from left).
