Six Events To Watch At The Ocean Breeze Freedom Games

Boys Distance

What: Boys 1600m/3200m

When: 1:30pm / 11:30am

Why: The big names are coming out of the XC break.

In the 1600m, we have a handful under 4:20, led by MD's Joseph Raudabaugh (Howard), who carries a best of 4:16.30. He'll be facing off with New York's Ryan Bush (Saratoga), with a 4:18 PR that could go down here. Evan McGregor (Bishop Hendricken, RI) was recently runner-up in the Mile up in Boston, and will be looking to improve on that placing down at Ocean Breeze.

In the double distance, Jackson Barna (Ridge, NJ) is the name to watch. He finished 10th at RunningLane, and ran a Speed Rating worth an 8:51 3200m equivalent. That's right below his PR of 8:52, so no question the meet record of 8:54 is in play. Adam Barbato (Victor) is the next best seed, looking to break right under 9:20, but this may be all Barna against the clock.
