Summary:  Clarence and Orchard Park are the contenders at the top, but there are many teams with runners that could greatly affect the scoring. The 1-5 split for Orchard Park at ECIC was a big 2:49, and for Clarence it was a more manageable 1:27. With maybe 11 teams fielding full squads in the S6-A race, it looks like Clarence will replace Orchard Park as Sectional champ if both teams run to the same form as at ECIC. But all it takes is one runner to narrow the gap a bit to make the difference in a very close race.

Summary: East Aurora had a great day at ECIC as it started pulling all the pieces together for another run at a States title with Emilia O'Leary on the lead. Again, there should be great battles for the five individual qualifying spots.

73.4

3

Eden

55.0

Lenz, Fodor, Stalker, Schrecengost, Pineau
Summary:  Due to the apparent loss of a key runner for Allegany-Limestone, what looked like it would be an even Sectional battle now no longer looks that way. Reigning champ Newfane has too much depth and A-L's 1-5 split from Angelina Napoleon to the 5th spot is just too big. S6-C has a big group of top runners, and Napolean's showdown with Springville's Kirsten Melnik and Hannah Goetz should be a great one.

2

Martin-Lacayo, Persons, Schauman, Kriner, Swan, Warner
Summary:  Maple Grove will be favored to win another S6-D championship after coming in ahead of CSP by 48-59 at CCAA, but the mix of teams will be a bit different at Sectionals, and the Red Dragons had a 1-5 split of 2:20 versus a nicely small 0.43 for the Wolfpack. Whether that factor will come into play in a race with a small number of teams is less predictable.
