Following Week of Saturday, October 9th
Picking up from two years ago, the Manhattan Invite was again a madcap affair where big teams from around the northeast region came to slug it out and a few smaller ones darted in for some action. Corning almost became the first NY team to take the boys Eastern States race since Fayetteville-Manlius won the 2014 championship, but the Hawks lost out to LaSalle College PA by 8 points. Westhampton Beach, Trinity, and Tri-Valley gave very strong performances while representing Classes B, C and D respectively, and fun was had by all.
Some other notable events occurred at meets across the state as some top contenders in the Class rankings upped their ratings as they headed into the heavy action of the conference-county-state qualifier weeks ahead.
Many teams will taking a breather after the last two torrid weekends of
action, but the Burnt Hills, Section 1 Coaches, NYC Carnival, Marathon,
Nassau Coaches, Weedsport, Town of Amherst, and John Bernard Adirondack
meets will provide plenty of highlights this week.
