In the week before McQuaid, some teams were chasing the Lions (or the reverse) at Six Flags in NJ, another group were exploring the always cheerful climb up Mt. Doom at Bowdoin, a big contingent were at Baldwinsville, and still others went east to the Ocean State meet in RI. Both Cornwall and Cicero-North Syracuse had impressive outings up among the top 10 in Class A, Pearl River and East Aurora look to be working in tandem with ratings boosters while Pittsford Sutherland and probably Honeoye Falls-Lima may be set to join the scrum in Class B, Bronxville and Wheatley nailed down top positions in Class C. As for Class D, only McQuaid knows how that will all turn out.
Get set for a huge October weekend ahead as the McQuaid meet is joined by big hitting meets such as St. Anthony's, Grout, Brewster Bear, Byram Hills Bobcat, Guilderland, Tully, and Whitesboro. Out of state, a few teams may be venturing to the New Jersey Shore coaches meet and the Great American XC Festival in NC.
