ITHACA, N.Y. - Junior Michael Brocks and sophomore Cassie White each pushed through the less than ideal running conditions to post Syracuse's best time in the men's five-mile and women's 5k race, respectively, on Friday at the John Reif Memorial Run, hosted by Cornell. This year's race boasted one of the largest fields of competitors in the history of the memorial run, with more than 150 runners from six teams.

Brock crossed the line first for the Orange men, placing third with a time of 26:36. Sophomore Brady Becker (27:06) rounded out the team's top 10 finishers, and newcomers Roman Acosta (27:11, 11th place) and John Aziz (27:15, 13th place) were not far behind.

On the women's side, sophomore Cassie White led the Orange with a time of 18:31, finishing second overall. Seniors Stefanie Slekis (18:53, 3rd place) and Lynne Mundy (19:46, 5th place), and junior Jenna Bieri (19:48, 6th place) all finished in the top 10 of the 5k race for SU.

Next up for the Orange, both the men and women head to Kenosha, Wis. to compete in the BIG EAST Championship hosted by Marquette University on Saturday, Oct. 31.
