There are some familiar names in the NCAA. Two year ago, MileSplit created the Alumni Rankings, which ranks the performances of all former New Yorkers as they compete in the NCAA, regardless of what State they attend College.
On the Girls Side, the names are quite familiar. Katelyn Tuohy leads in the 3000m, Sage Hurta down in the mile, Lanae-Tava Thomas and Halle Hazzard still battling it out in the sprints. Not only does it demonstrate the staying power of talent, but also highlights the staying power some of these athletes have, leading the Nation since first hitting the scene in 7th Grade.
For the Boys, there are familiar names as well, Chris Borzor leading the sprints with two time XC State Champ Kal Lewis leading over in the distance. But there are new names as well, with Chin Ononiwu leading in the short hurdles, showing how a new training environment can invigorate new performances.
