The Armory Track Is Shutting Down For The Rest Of Indoor

The Armory Track & Field Center, the centerpiece of New York's indoor track and field community, is reportedly shutting down for community and high school track and field competition following this past week's Hispanic Games, The Journal News reported on Sunday

Lohud reported that coaches were informed this past weekend that The Hispanic Games was the last competition at the venue and that Monday would serve as the final practice at the facility.

In years past, dating back to 2014, Section 1 competition has been held at the Armory Track. The Journal News reported that 20 meets had been hosted, with precautions, so far over the 2021 season.

Proposals by local coaches may suggest moving the indoor season to March, as the Armory -- up until the weekend -- was only allowing five high school teams inside the venue at a time and teams were limited to just 40 travel athletes.
