Note: Workout was filmed in late August, before NYSPHSAA Guidelines had been established, and during the club-permitted Season granted by Governor Cuomo.

For many, the Summer was a point of unpredictability. Fall Sports were still not a guarantee. For that matter, the ability to train collectively was still in flux. The duty at that time had fallen to Track Clubs, which received permission from the State to meet nearly two months before High School Sports would get the green light.

So athletes trained with the hope of a Fall that held some promise.

One such athlete was Rylee Davis (Bethlehem), who had been training with Delmar Track Club. A year before, after the team and individual Qualifiers had all shook out, Davis was the first Girl out of a slot on the line at the 2019 Cross Nationals. Her placing at Regionals was just three seconds shy from making it to Oregon.

Coming back, Davis would be the 4th Top Returner from that race, with Rylee now only a Sophomore. But Cross Nationals would pull the plug on 2020 early, putting that dream on hold. Next would come States. Then Sectionals. But still, Rylee Davis would get a Season, as Section 2 would ultimately opt for holding Cross Country in the Fall.

Currently, Davis has a single race and a single win on her schedule. At a Dual Meet vs Shenendehowa, on their home course of 2.5 Miles, Davis ran away with the race, crossing the line at 15:01.2, almost 45-seconds ahead of the next finisher. The above video is of her putting together an impressive set of 4x1000m to prep, in Mid-August.
