Desmond Mobley got the recent golden age of NY long jumping going when he followed up on a meager 1/2 inch win in the 2012 D1 competition to set a meet record at 25-2 in the Championship round that was just an inch and a half off Bob Beamon's 1965 state record. Mobley finished with an even more Beastly winning margin in 2013 though his tops was 24-9. Beacon's Rayvon Grey broke both Mobley's meet record and Beamon's state record at 2016 States in D1 action when he won by 1-10.50, but conditions for the Championship round were not as good the next day. | ||||
