With Bronxville finishing 2nd in 2018, Shenendehowa's margin among other D1 teams was more than 14 seconds. This was a redemption race for senior anchor Hannah Reale who was one of the top two favorites in the 800m on Friday but came in 14th. She had the fastest leg of all the runners in the relay on Saturday at 2:11.29 to blow up the 7 1/2 second lead given to her by Emily Lomascola and Jade and Jada Dennis into that 12.48 winning margin. An extra bit of redemption was earned by the Women of Shen since they were the runners-up in the previous best Beast performance by FM in 2102, a squad that included Katie Brislin, Heather Martin, Jillian Fanning, and Katie Sischo. And in 2010 in the most competitive 4x800m ever at States, Garden City set a meet record of 8:49.88 to win by 0.68 seconds over an FM squad that would win at Nationals a week later and set a state and Nationals meet record of 8:46.98 while edging Garden City by less than a second. | ||||
