MADISON, Wis. – The Syracuse University cross country teams heads to Madison, Wisconsin for the inaugural Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Saturday, October 3 on the new Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course at University Ridge. Collegiate teams scheduled to participate include Arkansas, Auburn, Brigham Young, Duke, Georgetown, Illinois, Iowa, Lamar, Marquette, Michigan, Nebraska, Syracuse, Texas A&M, UW-La Crosse, and Wisconsin.

The men's 8,000-meter race is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m., while the women's 5,000-meter race will begin at 11:45 a.m.

The Orange women improved its ranking to No. 21 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll for week one, but remain second in the Northeast Region. The men's team is ranked fourth in the region.

In their last outing, both SU teams finished first at the Colgate Invitational. The women dominated in the top 10, claiming seven spots en route to its first place finish. Junior Rebekah MacKay (21:43) earned the competition's top individual spot, followed by junior Katie Hursey (21:51) at number three. Senior Maegan Krifchin (21:53), sophomore Heather Stephens (21:57), junior Catherine DeSarle (22:00), sophomore Natalie Busby (22:07), sophomore Lauren Penney (22:10), and freshman Sarah Pagano (22:12) took spots four through nine.

On the men's side, sophomores Griff Graves and Tito Medrano finished back-to-back at 25:06 and 25:07 in first and second place, respectively. Syracuse took six of the top 10 spots, with Dan Busby (25:12), Forrest Misenti (25:15), Jay Koloseus (25:30), and Curtis Bixler (25:35) contributing to the win.

At Wisconsin, head coach Chris Fox win run fifteen student-athletes in the men's race and thirteen in the women's. MacKay, Hursey, and Pagano lead the Orange women, while Graves, Medrano, and Busby are among the men competing.

After the Wisconsin Inter-Regional, the Orange distance runners will take a week off before competing at Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. on Saturday, October 17.
