No 3 All-Time Soph Vaulter Anthony Meacham 17-0.75 Breakdown

Woodsboro, Texas is a tiny South Texas town with a huge pole vault following. Thanks in part to being home to the Vault Barn, a pole vault club under the instruction of Kevin Hall.

State championships and class records are nothing new to Coach Hall as he has turned out his fair share of both over the past several years.

His current star pupil is Woodsboro HS sophomore Anthony Meacham. He qualified for the UIL state track and field championships as a freshman with a 16-1 jump at the Region 4-2A Meet. He would eventually go on to win the state title, but that was just the beginning of a whirlwind second high school year.

A slight injury would keep Meacham from participating during the indoor season and saw him get off to a gradual outdoor start.

Then, right as he began to fully recover, the COVID-19 pandemic happened, once again putting Meacham on the sidelines. Now, healthy and with competitions being held, he has found his rhythm, stride, and form,  leading to some outstanding performances including an elite 17-0.75 jump at the MAC Vault Academy Summer Meet # 1. That ranks him as the third best sophomore pole vaulter All-Time.

Watch Meacham and Coach Hall breakdown the 17-0.75 jump and talk about what could be coming up this weekend at the MAC Vault Academy Summer Meet # 2.
