Brooke Rauber Wins U20 Pan-Am XC Champs

One week before the Indoor New York State Meet, one athlete from the Empire State is competing abroad.  Brooke Rauber (Tully) qualified for the U20 Pan-Am XC Championships earlier this year, when she traveled to San Diego for the USA Champs. Rauber was the only female High School athlete on the roster.

The top finisher at the Qualifier, Rauber repeated the effort at the Pan-Am Champs, winning the race in 23:12 for the 6K distance. She outlasted athletes from Canada and Peru, to win the race by a margin of 11-seconds. The race was held in Victoria, Canada, on the West Coast of the Country.  Rauber's last XC race was a 7th place finish at Nike Cross Nationals.

This is Rauber's first time representing Team USA at the International Level.  Most recently, Rauber qualified for the 1500m at the Section 3 State Qualifier.  She currently is NY #2 in that event.
