Summary:  Any of the top 5 teams could win in S6-A. Reigning champ Frontier has the best speed rating and three guys projected in the Top 10. Orchard Park has the best depth and might be putting seven guys across the line before a couple of teams' fifth guy. Lockport looked solid while winning Niagara Frontier and has the tightest top 5, and Lancaster was the top S6-A team three weeks ago at Clarence. Overall though, Clarence has best combination of top guys and 5th-spot closer, even if it has little depth and needs everyone to be on target. In virtual projections Frontier and Lancaster are tied at 41 through four spots, but the final count is a total scrum:
*** Clarence 73, Lancaster 77, Frontier 78, Lockport 79, Orchard Park 107
But while Orchard Park is furthest back, it also has the mid level pack to put a big hurt on any team whose 5th guy strays too far back. So yes, the 5th guy is very likely to be the key runner for the winning team here.

Josh Peron won the McQuaid AA race, and he is the favorite for the individual title after a 2nd place last year.

Summary:  The field for the S6-B is much deeper and stronger than the one in last year's race, which saw Pioneer beat East Aurora by 43-51. Pioneer boosted its speed ratings up about 3 points at its recent win at ECIC with East Aurora in 2nd well off the pace it ran at in its 2nd place to Burnt Hills in the McQuaid AA race a month earlier. If East Aurora has a full healthy squad set for Sectionals, it is projected to win by a big margin over Pioneer of 36-68 due largely to the big number of runners that teams like Lewiston-Porter, Amherst, and West Seneca East might pack in before Pioneer's 5th guy. But Pioneer's back line has been developing well, and this race is likely to get very close. ECIC winner Brody Jones finished 8th as a Pioneer freshman last year in Sectionals, and he and teammate Jared Hediger and West Seneca East's Vinny Pagliacci are expected to be battling at the top, and top returner Alex Hillyard and Thomas Wlodarczyk will be trying to keep East Aurora flying.

Summary: Five Top 20 teams will be battling for a spot at States, and it would not be a shocker if the order of finish in the race for that quintet were reversed from the speed ratings list here. Alden and Springville have by far the best speed ratings, but they also have very big compression numbers, and a lot of runners in the S6-C field will likely be pouring in before their #5 guy is in. We'll go with Falconer as the deepest and best balanced team in the field, but Newfane and Southwestern's tighter packs will be dangerous here. Alden's Kyle Urban is running far out in front after finishing 2nd as a freshman last year.
