Workout Wednesday: Colton Kempney of Beaver River

This August, we caught up with one of the most successful XC programs in the State.  Beaver River has 17 XC State Team Titles, spanning from 1973 to present.  One of the smallest schools in New York State, their dedication to the sport has been unwavering.  Beaver River is truly Cross Country Town.

We caught up with Colton Kempney, a sophomore on the rise.  Part of a running family, and legacy, at Beaver River, he looks to lead his Boys Team to their 18th State Title this Fall.  Currently, they are the Top Ranked Class D team in the State, set to qualify at Sectionals this Saturday.

Check out how the Season began, before Kempney picked up individual wins at both Pre-State and McQuaid.  We join Beaver River at the Otter Creek Trail System, in the heart of Upstate New York.  Head Coach Alex Barrett puts the boys through their paces on hill intervals, on some of the best training facilities around.
