Summary:   S5-A is always hard to predict. Last year Penfield ran to a comfortable 30 point win after finishing far back in 5th at Monroe County. This year the S5-A is not as strong as in 2018, but it has very competitive depth with seven teams packed in within 7 TR points of each other. Monroe County winner Churchville-Chili has a nice pack and Irondequoit has good depth, but Fairport still seems to have the best overall numbers. Nick Bauman finished 5th last year and is the top returner, but Kaelen Ruder was the top S5-A guy at Monroe County.

Summary:  Pittsford Mendon has been surging lately and had a dominating win at Monroe County, so winning S5-B for the 8th straight time should not be a big struggle. Sam Lawler won last year by 38 seconds, and this year the margin could well be much larger..

2

Mills, Dailey, Thompson, Ryhal, Makowic
Summary: Two dead-even teams will again be battling at the top by themselves in the S5-C among 17 or so teams and about 120 runners. Addison won last year's matchup by 5 and has nearly everyone back and maybe a better middle of the lineup. But Marcus Whitman will be riding high after a win at Wayne-Finger Lakes and may get the edge in the 5th spot. North Rose-Wolcott's Ryan King and Marcus Whitman's Liam Prendergast are expected to battle at the top after finishing 6th and 2nd respectively last year.

Summary:  22 teams and 161 runners lined up for last year's S5-D race, and there are seven ranked teams in the race from the state's very shrunken Class D ranks. Arkport had a strong 5th at Alden Bulldog three weeks ago, and ND-Batavia won last week at the Genesee-Livingston meet. In a meet this huge, you can't have your 5th guy too far back or you're in big trouble. Both teams seem to be at around the same mark at that spot, but if there is any slippage, Honeoye Central could be ready to pounce. Oakfield-Alabama was last year's winner. Jeremiah Ford, Mack Brewington, and Derek McIntire all have around the same numbers and are expected to be battling at the top.
