Summary:  This is by far the deepest most powerful field ever in at least recent times in the always powerful S2-A, as five of the top 11 Class A teams will be fighting for one spot at States, and at least three of the top 25 runners in A will not get one of the musical chair at-large spots for Plattsburgh. Just insane. After a dominating win at Suburban, reigning States champ Saratoga is the heavy favorite to repeat as S2-A champ and frontrunner Ella Kurto should be first across the line and be the successor to Kelsey Chmiel. There do not seem to be too many scenarios for an upset here, but Shenendehowa's subdued speed ratings in a 3rd place performance at Suburban could indicate that the Women of Shen might be saving something for Sectionals.

Summary: Mohonasen has been surging lately and put on a strong show while winning Colonial while Burnt Hills was shorthanded and far off its usual pace in a 7th at Suburban. However, Burnt Hills is the reigning champs and won by a huge margin last year, and with no great reason to overextend themselves at Suburban, the Spartan should make this race close. 8th grader Mia Paolino had a great performance at McQuaid but has not run since at an invite, so the top battle looks to be another great duel between Kate Sherman and Emily Berg, who finished 2nd and 4th behind last year's winner, Rory Graham.

Summary: Two years ago before Greenwich moved up to Class C, this race would have been seen as a battle of five almost dead-even ranked teams for a Sectional title. Now, not so much. Reigning States champ Greenwich will breeze to another win. The battle for the individual champion is more up in the air. Greenville's Tess Fitzmaurice is undefeated in five rated meets this year, and she and Greenwich's top duo of Brynne Wright and Nina Sgambelluri should have a nice joust up top.

Summary:  Last year Duanesburg dominated with a pack of four seniors at the top, but this year the 2018 runner-up Berlin is projected to have slightly better depth through the first four spots than a Mayfield team with which it shares an identical speed rating. However, the setup of the S2-D may end up favoring Mayfield or maybe Berne-Kox-Westerlo, so this is just a spin-the-bottle pick. Madison Relyea won last year's race by 46 seconds, but freshman Lily Czub who finished 6th last year should be much closer this year.
