Preview for Burnt Hills Invitational With Big Stakes

Saratoga Spa State Park, NY - The two original centers of cross country and track and field in America will be holding big extravaganzas on Saturday as the Burnt Hills Invite at Saratoga Spa Park hosts two DIII races that include some of the best teams in the state and region and give the top two races at the Manhattan Invite in NYC's Van Cortlandt Park a run for the money.

The DIII races at Burnt Hills include the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams in the state on both the boys' and girls' sides along with a host of other highly ranked NY schools. Vermont has also been kind enough to send over two of their top 5 teams for both races, so expect the trails at Saratoga to indeed be burnt to red-hot cinders as the host Spartans try to defend their titles last year against the Flying Dutchmen, Blue Streaks, Knights, Women of Shen, Bison, Red Storm, Hornets, Crusaders, and Wizards.

The Burnt Hills DIII race on the girls' side will have a little extra panache since this will be the first match-up between state powers Saratoga and Shenendehowa there in a very long time and possibly ever as Toga has not run there in at least the last 15 years and Shen has been at the meet only twice, in 2013 and 2015.

There will also be some heated varsity action in the DI and DII races earlier in the afternoon before the two DIII races end off the day beginning at 3:00 on the girls' side.
