What To Watch For This Weekend - 10/5

This is typically the week New Yorkers catch their breath between the excitement of McQuaid last week, and the thrill of Manhattan coming up.  Still there is plenty to be seen out-of-state, and a select few gems happening back home.

Out-of-State

Great American - NC

One notable name here from the New York contingent, and that's none other than the Season Debut of Katelyn Tuohy.  Many people are expecting a course record, but the question those back home are asking, will be how well does her team fare?

Paul Short - PA

A handful of strong teams heading to our Tri-State neighbors.  Niskayuna and Monroe-Woodbury have solid girls teams, while Cornwall's Karrie Baloga will be making her 5K debut.

Shore Coaches - NJ

Two separate Notre Dame squads from NY will be here, each with strong individuals.  Notre Dame (Staten Island) has Sierra Dinneen and Alyssia Brown, while Notre Dame (Manhattan) has Brigid McCabe.

In-State

Brewster Bear

The biggest meet of the weekend here in New York, most of Section 1 will be looking to run fast.  Highlights include Jonah Gorevic (Hackley) as a boys favorite, and Ava Jolley (North Salem) for the Girls.

Grout Invite

A large Section 2 meet, highlighted by Greenwich Girls competing, one of the top small schools in the State.  On the boys side, we'll see Gitch Hayes, who was a surprise race winner at Pre-States.

Tully Invite

Section 3 teams not looking to make the trip to Manhattan will put their full efforts here.  Brooke Rauber is the home school favorite, but what effort she'll give in a meet sandwiched between McQuaid and Manhattan is yet to be seen.

Whitesboro Invite

Section 3 teams from the Eastern side of the largest Section in the State (Geographically) will be headed here.

Southern Tier Invite

A smaller invite for Class B,C,D schools.  Entries posted.

LeRoy Invite

A smaller invite for Section 5 schools.
