Season Starts To Heat Up At McQuaid Invitational- Full Recap

Boys AA

Individuals

Breakdown: Pushed early by some overconfident Canadians in the first mile, Sam Lawler ran away with the victory, and fastest time of the day.  He continued his reign as the top runner in New York State, putting a big margin on the field, and maintaining throughout.  Dylan Throop tried to maintain contact, but the gap grew.  Sophomore Ryan Allison had an uneven race, finding the energy in the last mile to close nearly ten positions, and help bring down his team score.

Teams

Breakdown: Consider this redemption.  After a disappointing showing in 2018, Burnt Hills came back with completely new Top 3 Finishers that weren't on their squad the year before, and won the Overall merge by 25 points.  40-second compression, with a sophomore who serves as a solid front runner, the Burnt Hills boys put together a solid effort, one that should put them squarely as NY #2, and in position to return to NXN if their season continues to improve.  Behind them, we saw a Pittsford-Mendon team that did well to pack up in the middle, but was edged out by East Aurora's superior 5th man.
