Katie Kellner Rescues Man, Dog from Reservoir in Boston

Katie Kellner, a 2009 West Windsor Plainsboro South HS and 2013 Cornell University graduate, rescued a man and the dog he was attempting to rescue from the Chestnut Hill Reservoir on Tuesday in Boston, Mass., according to a report by CBS Boston

Kellner, a multi-time state champion in high school, went on to win the Ivy League Championship at Cornell and become an NCAA Division I All-American. She is now a runner for the Boston Athletic Association.

Kellner was running in the area of the reservoir when she saw the man struggling in the water. The man had swam out to save the dog, who ventured after a swan, but after reaching the dog he too began to struggle and yelled for help.

After jumping in after them Kellner was able to safely get both the man and his dog to land, and as reported by CBS Boston he and the dog are expected to be okay.
