Younger brother to Nate Lawler, also a Foot Locker Finalist, Sam Lawler is an XC National Finalist, as well as the Top Returning Athlete in both the 3200m and the Steeple.
He's the State's #2 Returner in Class A, just six seconds off Howles at Sunken Meadow. Bekele has finished in the Top 10 in the State in XC for every year he's been in HS.
The quickest senior in the field, as he ran 4:15.86 for the full mile Indoors. Injured during Spring Track, he returned in the Summer Series to win the USATF JO Champs in a tactical 1500m, running 3:57.77.
Gabe Planty (Watkins Glen)
As a freshman, Planty was a key component in bringing Watkins Glen the first Federation title for a non-Class A school since Beaver River in 1999. The last member from that squad still in High School, Planty is the top Class C Runner in the State.
