What To Watch For This Weekend

Friday 9/6

Red Raider Run

While typically taken as a training run, any time Katelyn Tuohy hits an XC Course, eyes will be on the results.  Maybe even moreso, the team behind her will be in focus, as they had one of the youngest squads in the State in 2018, and bring almost everyone back this year.

Panther Prowl

Monroe-Woodbury Boys will debut here, as they seem to be one of the three teams typically in contention for the S9-A title come later in the Season.

Dash In The Dark

Pre-Season #1 Sam Lawler will be making his debut here, albeit in an atypical race format.  Class B in NYS is wide open, so it will also give us a chance to see the legs behind him.

Saturday 9/7

VVS Invite

This serves as the opener for both Boys and Girls squads from Fayetteville-Manlius, as well as a strong individual matchup in the final race of the day between Brooke Rauber and Jenna Schulz.  Also in Race 4, Sophomore Colton Kempney will be trying to take home the merge, running the fast time of the day on the course that will host States in 2020.

Somers Big Red

One of the biggest meets of the weekend, it will serve as a great preview for Section 1.  Class C standout Ava Jolley looks to highlight the girls field, while a freshman from Brewster, Patrick Ford, will provide some intrigue for the Boys.

Ed Springstead

The girls from Shaker may have one of the youngest teams in the State, but their strength in the distances on the track make sure they are team to watch coming into the fall.

Washingtonville Wizards Invite

No published entries, however the home team Boys are another strong team in Section 9, looking to start off the season right.

CHSAA Practice Meet

Pedro Bravo looks to be one of the Top 5 in the Non-NYSPHSAA Leagues, so his debut at VCP will give us a first look how things may play out come November.

Dave Forbes Invite

The Ithaca Boys have been in a perpetual battle with Corning for S4-A title over the years.  With everyone returning this year from 2018, as well as one of the top Sophomores in the State, we'll get our first glimpse of the team here.

Red Dragon Invite

Perennial favorites in their division, Maple Grove and East Aurora look to open up in Bemus Point.

West Seneca Invite

Vinny Pagliaccio had a much improved season on the track, and in the Steeple, so he could kick start a strong XC Season here.

Bob Goodell Memorial Invite

Gabe Planty is ranked Pre-Season #7, and will be opening up his season here.

Blackbird Invite

Several small schools from Section 2 go head-to-head, although the Guilderland Girls find themselves in the mix as well.
