Track & Field has 25 Members Honored

The men recorded the program's best performance in 16 years with a fourth place finish at the 2009 BIG EAST Indoor Championship.

The women's track and field team tied for fourth along with Connecticut and Pittsburgh with 15 BIG EAST All Academic selections, while the men had 10.

Anastasia Boyle and Kayla Carter earned the honor for the third consecutive year, while Melissa Romero and Liz McCarter were named to the team for the second time. The Orange had 11 first-time honorees.

The women finished 12th at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championship and 13th at the Indoor.

General studies major Michael Brocksm, child family studies major Eric Cleckner, health and exercise science major and Terry Marshall earned the award for the second time. Representing the Orange for the first time were Kris Kolewe, Sham Lewis, Mark Melilli, Erin Schirm and Evan Stivala. The final honoree was senior and first time member Kyle heath. Heath also became Syracuse's first All-American distance runner since 1983.
