For track athletes, the biggest difference between both the NFHS rules and the NCAA Rules vs. the current NY State HS rules is the implication of the Jewlery limitations. NFHS removed the prohibition of Jewelry in 2014, to match the NCAA provisions. New York State decided to not follow suite. In fact, they reiterated their commitment to the rule, clarifying language that now includes the prohibition of Jewelry worn during regular HS Practices.
