New York Boys State Rankings - Week 2

Following Week of Saturday, September 22

Week 2 rankings were highlighted by another explosive performance by Burnt Hills at Baldwinsville as both Tyler Berg and Evan Brennan sped to the finish line a tenth of a second apart and also under the old course record. Smithtown opened its rated season with a big win at the Bob Pratt meet at the Sunken Meadow site where teams will gather in early November for States. Trinity got in its first all-out effort among the regional giants at Bowdoin and took its performance to the the top of the Class C rankings.

Among the teams with big victories last week were Cornwall in the other half of the Bob Pratt meet, Frontier in the East Aurora-Large race, Irondequoit at Penfield-Irondequoit, and Xavier in the Xavier-B race. On the smaller side of things, Southwestern won the East Aurora-Small race and Skaneateles won the Baldwinsville-Small race.

A wave of supreme talent will be crashing down on the line for the McQuaid AAA race this weekend with at least 14 ranked teams from New York alone and a few more powerhouses blasting in from California and Virginia to get a taste of the action. Reigning champ Burnt Hills will be taking on all challengers among the bigger squads, and the fireworks at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester throughout the day will be viewable throughout the nation.
