This Year's Outlook
Irondequoit finished well back in 3rd in S5-A behind Fairport in the Sectionals mud last year. This year though the Eagles have five of the top 6 from Sectionals back, and they enter the season as maybe a slight favorite in the section ahead of a pack that includes Penfield, Churchville-Chili, and McQuaid. States finalist Ryan Thompson returns for his senior year to lead the hunt for Irondequoit's first ever Sectional title, and the key will likely be how well the Eagles can bolster the back of the lineup.

This Year's Outlook
After a four-year run of visits to NXN Nationals and one team and two individual state championships, Liverpool fell back to a 3rd place finish in the S3-A with a young squad. Eight of the top 9 runners at last year's Sectionals are back, however, so that bodes well for a big resurgence this year for the Warriors. States finalist Nathan Reeves is back, and with fellow seniors TJ Praschunas and Nick Brancato from last year's Sectionals top 20, Liverpool will be looking for a likely showdown with Baldwinsville for the 2nd spot in S3-A.

This Year's Outlook
Washingtonville finished well back in 5th in S9-A last year, but unusual circumstances have dealt the Wizards the highest ratings of any team in the section this year. Reigning S9-A champ Monroe-Woodbury and the longtime power Warwick Valley both had heavy losses to graduation, while the Wizards have everyone back. Thomas Garrison finished 8th in Sectionals in 2017, and fellow senior Liam Gildea is likely holding down the second spot, but after that the makeup of the Wizards is a bit mysterious. Nonetheless, Washingtonville will be seeking its first Sectional title in 18 years, a long drought for a storied program that has won state championships in two different classes.

This Year's Outlook
The Patriots finished well back of Fairport in 2nd in the S5-A last year, and States finalist Tyler Senall has graduated along with John Pullano. But a young Patriots squad led by juniors Jacob Fredericks and Garrett Hall should be very competitive in an S5-A with no clear-cut favorite this year as Penfield looks for its second Sectionals title in three years.

This Year's Outlook
The Saints sent two guys to States last year, as Payton Gleason placed 5th in his senior season and Peter Kostarellis was 32nd. Kostarellis is back to lead a big pack of seniors in the hunt for Churchville-Chili's first Sectionals title in 16 years. Some more depth at the back will be needed for last year's 4th place S5-A squad, but the Saints will be strongly in contention.
