State Record & National Title For Jabari Bennett?

Previews and recaps from New Balance Indoor Nationals for Team VA

Washington-Lee senior Jabari Bennett has done something very difficult this season. He has constantly improved throw after throw, competition after competition. This means we should be in store for another big mark this post-season at nationals.

Last year finished 12th with a throw of 58-4, this year he enters having thrown 64-6.5. That mark ranks him third all-time in the state of Virginia and inches him closer to the 68-0 state record set by Isaiah Simmons

The best part of shot put and many other field events with such a huge technical aspect is how much he can improve and at what percent he is truly throwing. What this means is if he is doing everything right and firing on all pistons we could see a huge improvement from him. 68' or even closer to 70' cannot be counted out this weekend for Bennett.
