It's always fun to look at Class State Rankings. It gives you an apples-to-apples comparison against athletes with your same age, experience, and many times, talent level. One of the favorites among the Class Rankings are the Freshman Rankings. They are used to try and predict the future. Which new athlete will come in and shake up the State?
But how much do the Freshman State Rankings really predict the future? How many of those Freshman State Leaders go on to become State Champions and State Record Holders? Is it better to be a Male Freshman State Leader, or a Female one?
We dug into those questions this week, and more. Our sample size was the Class of 2018. We went back and looked at the Freshman State Rankings for the Class of 2018, and 'tracked' their progress in the State Rankings YOY. Who improved? Who didn't? Find out all that and more, below.
