Multiple time State Champion Sprinter Halle Hazzard (Saint Anthony's) has just been Grenada's Junior Sportswomen of the Year for 2017. Hazzard twice competed overseas in 2017, representing her native country of Grenada, each time capturing a podium finish.
Hazzard captured gold last year at the New York State level as well. She won the Indoor 55m dash at the State Championships, and did much the same over 100m outdoors. She is the third ever fastest New Yorker over the 55m distance, and #6 All-Time in the 100m dash. Upon her graduation in 2017, she now attends the University of Virginia.
