The Seven Biggest Stories To Come Out Of New York Sectional Weekend

1. The State Meet Course Is Slow

The most common comment about the state meet course when it was viewed this summer was that it was a flat course than can be slowed down significantly when it rains. Consider that point proven, as the Section 5 championships saw almost a week of rain preceding the meet, which affected the boys by nearly a minute, and the girls by nearly a minute and a half.

Although the forecast for the next week is without rain, Saturday is looking like a wintry mix of snow and rain. For those that never got to race at Portland Meadows when NXN held the nationals there from 2004-13, consider this your chance to get the same experience.
