Summary:
Last year Trinity snapped Collegiate's 19-year hold on the AIS
championship, and this year the top-rated Tigers hope to start building a
streak of their own. A 41-78 win over Collegiate in the recent Ivy Prep
meet shows that Trinity may be rounding into shape for the defense of
its title. But Collegiate, Hackley and Poly Prep all have fairly similar
speed ratiings to Trinity, and it would not be a shock to see any of
the four teams come away with the champions' trophy. Last year Trinity's
Aidan Ryan won the race for a second time in his final season, and
Collegiate's Jacob Barber is the top returner from last year. Each of
the top 5 teams has a frontrunner who will be in the pack at the top
fighting for the title: Tobias Wolfson of Riverdale Country Day,
Geordiie Young of Trinity, Jonah Gorevic of Hackley, Gabriel Cannavo of
Poly Prep, and Adam Kenet of Collegiate.
