New York's own Mikey Brannigan had a heck of a year in 2017. Numerous improvements on World Records, plus an outstanding outing at the Paralympic World Championships.
Now, Brannigan is up for Male Paralympic Athlete of the Year for his efforts. Presented by Team USA, the poll makes up for 50% percent of the selection criteria, while a panel of experts will decide the other 50%. You can do your part to have Brannigan recognized as one of the best athletes in the country.
Brannigan, an alumnus of Northport HS, took the running world by storm during his HS career. While many may note his mile efforts out in Oregon, locals will more readily recognize his effort in creating the strongest 3200m ever run on the East Coast, with the Loucks Games competition his senior year. He is also the third fastest athlete to ever run at Bowdoin Park in XC.
