Big Races At Bowdoin Classic Split Between New York and New Jersey

Girls Varsity 1

Individual: Coming off of a solid performance last week at the Suffern Invitational, Sarah Trainor (FDR) once again added to her collection of gold medals. However, this win didn't come as easy to her as it did at Bear Mountain, with Trainor saying that Abigail Spiers (Niskayuna) really gave her a run for her money. It was neck-and-neck between the two in the last 900 meters, but Trainor was able to pull away from Spiers and emerge from the back hills in first for on the final straight away.  It also marked the debut race for Lauryn Heskin (Marymount) outside AIS, and with her third place finish, proves she can run with the best of them.

Team: An incredible effort across the spectrum today from all teams. It was a close call between Niskayuna and Pearl River through the entity of the race, with no clear depiction of who would be victorious. After much back and forth, Niskayuna was able to nudge Pearl River out by a mere 7 points.
