Here is a scene from a Saturday afternoon meet at The Armory. As anyone who has ever been to a track meet knows, they can be very long. Track and field athletes are known for their dedication to the classroom. Above girls take a break from competing and cheering for their teammates to catch up on some home work.
The Armory is huge supporter of academics. One program that The Armory runs in The Armory College Preparation Program, an educational initiative administered by The Armory Foundation to help our high school students prepare for and obtain admission to college. Nearly 2,000 high school student-athletes use The Armory to train for track and field competitions each year. Most of these student-athletes are from New York City Public Schools, where graduation and college admission rates are low. MORE INFO HERE
