Carmen Auble, a Warsaw Central School 7th grader, set a NYS 7th grade girls pole vault record of 9' 1/4" at the Syracuse Chargers open winter track series meet # 2 hosted at Syracuse University's Manley Fieldhouse today (1/18/09).
This got me to thinking about our future stars here in NY State and how many of our readers don't even know about the leaderboards by grade.
UPDATE: Kyle Plante, a freshman at Colonie, ran 8.20 to set a new NY State freshman record. The old record was 8.21 by Monifa Taylor (Truman) in 1986. Taylor went on to run 7.80 and hold the state record until 2007 when Cardozo's Lindsey Rowe ran 7.76 at NSIC.

Just a reminder that the leaderboards can be sorted any way you like by choosing ADVANCED PARAMETERS. For CHSAA, PSAL, and AIS rankings, just type those letters into the SECTION field. For numbered Sections, type the actual number in to the SECTION field, not the roman numeral.
From there you can do county, grade, class/school size, and so on.
