What's On Tap This Weekend?

The Class Championships were last weekend and next Saturday is the State Meet.

But that doesn't mean our slate is empty.

It appears a record-number of athletes will be inside the Providence Career and Athletic field house on Saturday for the Junior Varsity State Championships. The co-ed event will begin at 11 a.m. MileSplit RI will be on site for all the coverage and will also provide LIVE results.

While hundreds of athletes will converge at the JV meet, we'll have just runner in New York, but it's one runner that will be looking to make some history. Competing in the Pro/Elite Invitational Mile of the NYRR Millrose Games, DJ Principe will be taking another crack at breaking four minutes. The last time the La Salle Academy senior was at the New Balance Armory, site of Millrose,  was Jan. 21 when he came oh so close to becoming the tenth schoolboy under four minutes with a third-place time of 4:00.97 at the New Balance Games. His race is set to begin at 2:52 p.m.

Below is the talented field that will be toeing the line with Principe on Saturday.
