Rochester, NY - Once again, the bar has been raised. Sophomore Erica Ellis (Gates-Chili) continues her chase of rewriting the New York State Record Book. Already holding the State Sophomore Record for the Indoor Pole Vault at 12-7, Ellis bettered her mark with a 12-10 clearance at her Sectional Championship.
Trained by Rick and Jenn Suhr, Rochester natives and local Olympians, Ellis has had continued improvement year over year. She now finds herself approaching the 13-foot barrier. In New York's history, there have only been four girls to do so. Ellis is now tied for NY #5 All-Time in the event.
