Average Speed Rating of 171.6 is the highest of any team this season so far. #'s 2-4 are within 2 seconds of each other, when #5 makes the move up they will be a statewide force to reckon with.

5 Mahopac(AA)(#5 previous week) A 17:17 average at the Brewster Invite this weekend to win the large school race handily. 1-2 finish of James McDonough and Joe Abed El Latiff assured the win for the team. A 157.2 Average Speed rating for the week. 1:39 spread for 1-5.

8 Irvington ( C) (Only #3 in Class C last week) The boys of Irvington traveled to the site of this years state meet to get an idea of how they stack up against some of their best competition to repeat as Section 1 Class C champions and came out on top with a18:24 average and a 1:45 spread from 1-5. They get a 147.8 Average Speed Rating for the day and take over as the best in Class C as well as making the top 10 list for all of section 1. Bubble Teams:

1. Mamaroneck (AA)- 18:53 Average at Sunken Meadow and a 2:15 spread. 138 Average Speed Rating.

2. Bronxville ( C) 3 tough front runners still looking for a 4 and 5. 146 Average Speed Rating being pulled by front 3.

3. Pearl River (B)- Off Week

4. Dobbs Ferry ( C) Previously a top 5 team ran with only 4 on the starting line at Sunken Meadow, will team depth be an issue late in the season?

5. Carmel(AA)- Off Week.

We know there are other teams out there that will be on this list soon. IF we could not find results for your team, we were unable to do any rankings. If you split your squad and only Varsity divisions were listed, but you had JV guys run faster, we apologize for not being able to give due credit. Please email us any results that might help us make informed decisions: runnered@verizon.net.

Thanks and see you next week.

Boys Class Rankings:

Class AA (Previous Week ranking in parenthesis)

1. North Rockland(3) A mighty statement was made by this team on Saturday at the St. Anthony's invite. They will be very hard to beat when they fire on all cylinders. Expect #5 to work hard to pinch the gap to that great pack at 2-4.

2. Suffern (2) A great run up at the Grout Run against some of the top teams in the state.

3. Arlington (1) Took the week off and get a chance to recharge their batteries.

4. Scarsdale (4) A pretty good showing at Sunken Meadow against top ranked North Rockland.

5. Mahopac (5) Won the large school race at Brewster over the weekend.

Class A (Previous week ranking in parenthesis)

1. Brewster (2) Close race to Byram Hills at Brewster. Freshman Charlie Carr leads them with a 17:05 time, followed by big brother John at 17:27.

2. Horace Greeley (1) Week off.

3. Somers (3) Ran a skeletal squad at Sunken Meadow, leader Gorecki gets outkicked at the finish to run 17:26.

4. Yorktown (5) Competed at the Grout run and averaged 14:55 for the 2.7mile course with a 2:03 spread and 140 Speed Rating.

5. Fox Lane (4) No results from the weekend.

Class B (previous week ranking in parenthesis)

1. Byram Hills (2) Nice 1-2 punch up front and a good run by all at Brewster will put pressure on Pearl River to step it up over the next 4 weeks to be able to set up a nice race at State Qualifiers.

2. Pearl River (1) Took the week off.

3. Rye (unranked) A 19:47 average at the tough Sunken Meadow State Pk. Course on Saturday with a very large 4+ min. spread. Leader Max Robinson ran 18:17. 120 Average Speed Rating.

4. Ardsley (4) A 19:12 average at Brewster with a 2:17 spread, more than double last weeks' spread. 118.8 Average Speed Rating.

5. JFK (3) A 20:05 average at St. Anthony's with a 4:28 spread and a 106.8 Speed Rating.

Class C (previous ranking in parenthesis)

1. Irvington (3) Won the small school race at St. Anthony's against their main competition in section 1. Looking good to repeat as Section 1 champions.

2. Pawling (2) Finished 2nd. To Irvington on Saturday. Have a great pack of runners that will be dangerous if they can all improve over the next 4 weeks……well coached and ready to make the push.

3. Dobbs Ferry (1) only able to run 4 in the race on Saturday due to different reasons. If they can't run their full 7 at Sectionals they will open the door for all other teams to make a run at them to capture the crown that looked to be theirs during September.

4 Bronxville (4) If only……another team that needs to find 2 more runners to get that score down to be competative. These guys can run with the best from 1-3 and without a 4 and 5 they will be relegated to being "spoilers" for one team or another in the scoring differential at State Qualifiers. Freshman Flannery looking impressive still, as he runs 17:44 at Sunken Meadow to finish 5th in the race.

5.Dover (NR) 19:05 avg. at Brewster and a 2:24 spread, 121.2 Avg. Speed Rating.

Class D (previous ranking in parenthesis)

1. Keio (1) No results found.

2. Haldane (unranked) Fielding a full boys team this year. Had 3 under 21:30 in a dual meet this past week at North Salem. Make it

four full teams in Class D this year, not 3 like I said last week…..Keep them coming!

3. Alexander Hamilton (2) No results

4. Children's Village (3) No results

Class AA (previous week rank in parenthesis)

1. Arlington (1)- #1 all season, took a weekend off and recharged the battery, let's see if they can continue the streak for 4 more weeks.

2. Suffern (2)- A good run for the team down in New Jersey. They need to work on

their compression from 1-5 (not easy with Shelby flying out front).

3. North Rockland (3)- This team has a good gap from 1-5 and are looking good.

4. Mahopac (4)- Gardineer leading this team, they are going to battle Carmel for one

of the top spots at Northern Counties Championships.

5. Carmel (5)- 3:10 gap is too much for an AA school to make a move on this list right now.

Class A (previous week rank in parenthesis)

1. Brewster (1) Munn and Bottalico go 1-2 at Brewster Invite in their race, both break20:00 to lead this team. Bottalico just an 8th grader will get stronger as the season progresses.

2. Ursuline (2)- Sullivan is just on a tear this season, taking on all comers and proving her 2 a days this summer are paying off….can the rest of the team make the next step and help this team get back to states?

3. Tappan Zee (3)- Ran in Florida this past weekend. Another team that will need to close the gap if they are to have an impact at Sectionals.

4. Somers (4)- O'Conell and Cavaliere finish in top 25 at St. Anthony's invite over the weekend and Kuntz was right behind. A good group that could break through to the top three at sectionals.

5. Yorktown (5)-19:20 avg. at Grout over the weekend with 4:02 gap from 1-5.

Class B (previous week rank in parenthesis)

1. Pearl River(1) Another win in Florida and this team is on an out of state roll right now. They have a very good speed rating on a fast course, with their county meet showdown coming up with Suffern, Coach Doherty has this team running well.

2. Nanuet (2) Goal #1 for this team is to move that gap closer together, 3:43 will be

too much space in a large meet and allow other teams to get in. 20:50 at St. Anthony's is a good leader.

3. JFK(3) Team ran over the weekend but had a 6+ min. gap from 1-5 and will not be able to move up unless they all step it up, 4 weeks gives time to work on this.

4. Edgemont (NR)- Ran a 5+ min. gap at Sunken Meadow, 3 girls under 23:40 and moving

up.

5. Briarcliff (5) 24:59 avg. at Brewster.

Class C (previous week rank in parenthesis)

1. Bronxville (1) winner of small school and the merge at St. Anthony's with teams like Northport and Garden City in the meet. The two 8th graders ran 20:39 and 20:40 on the hills they are planning to run in November.

2. Pawling (2) With a team avg. under 22:00 at Sunken Meadow, this team looks very good right now.

3. Irvington (3) 22:29 at Sunken Meadow, Field can put pressure on up front at Sectionals and help keep this team's score low.

4. Hastings (4) Just over 2 min. spread for this team and a bit of an off day for the leaders, they have been closer to the leaders in the past and will look to challenge again soon.

5. Dover (NR) 23:36 avg. at Brewster with a 3:47 gap will get them on the list this week.
