Stanner Games Set To Impress This Weekend - Full Meet Preview

Invitational Girls Events

Mile

The season is heating up, and the big match-ups are rounding into form.  One week after taking on Kate Murphy in the 3000m, Katelyn Tuohy (North Rockland) will be facing off against the best from NJ in Alyssa Aldridge (Mainland Reg).  Both are capable of going well under 5mins for the mile.  Abby Loveys (Randolph,) has hit 4:56.13 for the 1600m, and will be a factor as well.  Rounding out the top seeds is Madison Coppolino (Sterling, NJ), who has hit 4:59.84 for 1600m as well.

2-Mile

Alex Harris (North Rockland) will be taking her turn at the 3000m here, and will have plenty of company.  Newcomer Sarah Trainor (FDR) will get her first crack at the 3000m outside West Point, and will be in the mix with fellow Section 9'er Annie Kurdziel (Monroe-Woodbury).  Top seed on paper is Jacyln Gallery (Smithtown East), who  made her return to competition at Ocean Breeze the week earlier.  Long Islanders Bridget Kanaly (Bay Shore), Rachel Ruggiero (Sachem East), and Kelly Iocca (Connetquot) should be right in the mix too.  Rounding out the top seeds is Abby Spiers (Niskayuna).

Shot Put

Shot Put looks to be a pretty even affair.  Only Ashley Walsh (Bayport-Blue Point) has exceeded the 40-ft mark, with a 40-2.5.
