Kamryn McIntosh, Sammy Watson To Race Pro 600m At Armory Track Invitational

Is it time for a new 600m national record?

The Armory Track Invitational on Feb. 3-4 in New York City looks like a prime spot for the magic to happen, as the Armory Foundation announced today that current high school record holder Kamryn McIntosh and IAAF World U20 champion Sammy Watson will compete in a professional field at the event.

McIntosh's record stands at 1:28.78. Watson is the No. 3 ranked performer all-time with her PR of 1:29.53.

Headlining the pro field is 2016 world indoor 800m silver medalist Ajee' Wilson of adidas, who set the world junior record hold at 1:26.45 in 2013. Other entrants include Lynsey Sharp, Meg Manley, Olicia Williams, Cecilia Barowski and Kimarra McDonald.

Will they break the record? Vote in the poll!

We caught up with Sammy Watson after she ran an impressive triple at the Dartmouth Relays:

adidas pro Drew Hunter, who set the national record for the indoor mile and indoor 3K last winter, will compete in the 3K at the Armory Track Invitational vs. a field that includes Paralympic gold medalist Mikey Brannigan, plus Nick Tuck, Daniel Winn, Graham Crawford, Will Geoghegan, Travis Mahoney, Morgan McDonald, Morgan Pearson and Brandon Hudgins.
