LIVE on MileSplit Tomorrow: Wayne Gardiner Holiday Relays

Wayne Gardiner Holiday Relays:

The meet is going to be at Ocean Breeze for the first time, moving from the Drew University flat track to this banked track could lead to a surplus of meet records.

4x800 Meter

Morris Hills was ranked US#6 last year and finished 5th at Nationals, they only return two from that squad but it'll be interesting to see if they can bring back the success they had last year.

The Union Catholic boys, another team who went under 8 minutes put together an 8:11 at the Armory this past weekend so we'll have to see if they can push each other to run a great time. The meet record is set at 8:13.05 and this is the first year they'll be running at Ocean Breeze.

Distance Medley

We've got another showdown brewing in the DMR, Morris Hills once again in the mix along with Ridge and Morristown. Morristown's Eric Clay just opened his season with a sub 4:30 meet record at the Lid Lifter so he's running hot. The meet record there is a 10:46 which I'm not sure if it is too early in the season to see that kind of time or not but none the less looking forward to the race.

Shuttle Hurdle

The Union Catholic girls have entered this meet, if they go for it we could see a meet record in the shuttle hurdle relay which is set at 33.60 among others. Last year UC ran 31.40 in the shuttle as early as January 3rd so it is possible. Especially if we see Sydney McLaughlin out there in either this relay or another such as the SMR or 4x200. In 2016 Union Catholic owned most of the relay leader board for a good majority of the season.

High Jump

Off the track Andrew Pondiscio of Sparta has a best of 6-06, he'll be going up against Max Michel of Elizabeth who has a career jump of 6-05.

For the girls high jump we once again see Union Catholic thanks to
Tyler Scott a junior who's cleared 5-06. She'll be battling Meghan O'Malley of Randolph a sophomore who just broke the Lid Lifter meet record this past weekend at 5-05.
