Bronxville's Kaitlyn Ryan Off To A Quick Start

Bronxville, NY - For Kaitlyn Ryan, cross country season ended at Federations.  Despite taking third at States in Class C, and 23rd overall at the Federation Championships a week later, the post season cross country meets didn't have the same appeal as some of the other top finishers in the state.  Instead, her mindset changed.  It was time for Track.

The recent Stanford-signee is more than just in the hunt on the oval.  She's one of the favorites.  Last spring, she took second overall in the Federation 800m championship at States.  A week later, she threw down a US #9 performance at Princeton.  With a year left to go, Ryan hasn't slowed down.

Running at the Section 1 Kick Off last weekend, Ryan threw down a very impressive 4:44.13 in the 1500m, which was then a State Leading mark by over ten seconds (that changed this weekend).  One week later, at her home invitational, Ryan blasted a 2:51.77 over 1000m.  For perspective, that mark would have placed second overall at States the previous year.

Don't expect Ryan to slow down anytime soon.  If history is any indication, we'll see her name atop the leaderboards for quite a while.
